We, the Workers, at Collins Aerospace are Done with Empty Promises!
They promised:
-
- To establish a committee to sincerely listen to workers’ concerns and suggestions.
- To move our wages towards the higher industry standard, NOT a so-called “Market Analysis.”
- To provide a more respectful, dignified work environment.
They delivered NONE of it! So,
- Collins Aerospace Workers are Forming Their Union!

MARKET ANALYSIS
Collins claims to have done a market analysis in order to adjust our wages more towards industry standards. We haven’t seen the report or understand how the analysis was performed. Meanwhile, in the last 5 years our rent has increased almost 14% and groceries have gone up over 5%. Our wages haven’t kept up!
VOICE
Collins committed to creating a committee to give our ideas and suggestions legitimate consideration. To date, there is no committee and management shows no interest in really listening to us. With our IAM Union, our voice will be heard.
RESPECT
Collins says they value us, but their actions tells us otherwise. Transparency and honoring commitments show respect. If Collins won’t give it, we’ll NEGOTIATE it!
%
Collins Aerospace Workers who signed an A-Card
A year ago, 60% of us signed union authorization cards for the opportunity to elect IAM Union representation. In response, Collins Aerospace Corporate Management came in and made promises. They said they wanted to work with us to make things better, be more transparent. We chose to give them a chance. They failed! Now, we have an opportunity to demand better, because this time, WE ARE FORMING OUR IAM UNION!
IAM Members Live Better
With nearly 600,000 active and retired members, the IAM Union is one of the largest most diverse labor organizations in North America. From RTX and Lockheed Martin to Southwest Airlines and Harley Davidson, you will find IAM members across all walks of life. IAM members demand respect and dignity in the workplace. Together, we will have the strength to bargain for higher wages, better benefits and stronger job security.
What’s an Authorization Card?
Collecting authorization cards is how we know there’s a genuine interest in forming a Union. Once enough cards are collected, we can petition the federal government for a Union election. Signing a card does not mean you have joined the Union. That’s an entirely separate process. Don’t let management scare you with misleading information about the authorization card. Otherwise, they win and provide themselves even more control over the workforce. Take a moment and watch a short video explaining the authorization card.
Your Rights Under the Law
Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), you and your co-workers have certain rights when it comes to forming a union.
You have the right to:
- Form, join or assist a union to negotiate with your employer over your wages, benefits and other working conditions.
- Distribute union literature
- Wear union swag that complies with regular uniform/dress code
- Ask co-workers to sign authorization cards
- Discuss the union with co-workers on non-work time.
Your supervisor/manager cannot:
- Spy on you, coercively question you, threaten you or bribe you regarding your union activity.
- Prohibit their workers from talking about or soliciting for a union during non-work time (including before and after work or during breaks).
- Fire, discipline, demote, or penalize their workers for engaging in any of the above mentioned activities.
